There will be NO U-PICK IN 2020. A hard winter and poor weather during blossoming resulting in a complete failure of this year's crop.

Any questions? Please contact Everyday Farms: or via their Facebook page.

BRUNO CHERRY SUNDAY IS CANCELED for 2020 due to COVID-19.

Bruno Cherry Sunday was originally scheduled for  August 9, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and regulations from the province regarding gathering sizes and public safety, we have decided that it is best to CANCEL Bruno Cherry Sunday for this year.

CHERRY U-PICK is also CANCELED for the 2020 season as the crop failed due to weather.

We hope to be able to welcome everyone back to Bruno in 2021!

Your 2020 Co-Chairs (aka the Co-"Cherries"),

Debbie Kramer&Linda Batza

2018 U-Pick CANCELLED

Cancellation necessary due to fruit fly problems.

Due to problems with fruit flies and this year's crop, we regretfully have decided to cancel U-Pick operation for this year.

PLEASE NOTE: We had previously announced that the U-Pick Cherry Orchard would be opening August 1. After a final walk-through on July 30 in preparation to the u-pick opening, we discovered issues throughout our orchards that would negatively impact both the cherry picking experience and the fruit quality. We are sorry for any confusion or disappointment that this new development may cause.

U-Pick Cherries

COME AND PICK starting August 1!

Cherry Sunday may have been cancelled for this year, but the orchards have not gone away! The St. Therese grounds feature several acres of Cherry Orchard, featuring several varieties of the great tasting, tart-but-sweet University of Saskatoon-developed Dwarf Sour Cherry.

PLEASE NOTE: Cherry yield is low this year due to high winds blowing off blossoms in the spring. We recommend coming asap after our Aug. 1 opening, and plan on spending more time picking in the orchard as you'll have to pick from more trees due to low yield.

PRESS RELEASE β€” FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[Bruno, SK, JUNE 19, 2018] The Bruno Cherry Sunday Committee regrets to inform the public that Bruno Cherry Sunday, which was scheduled to take place on August 12, 2018 has been cancelled due to the denial of funding through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

For the past 15 years, the Bruno Cherry Sunday Festival, first in conjunction with the Carlton Trail Ag Society and then with St. Therese Institute, has hired a full-time summer employee through the Canada Summer Jobs Program to coordinate the event. This year, our application for a summer student was denied because we could not; in good conscience, agree to all aspects of the application’s newly added attestation requirement.

When the Cherry Sunday Committee first heard that our Canada Summer Jobs funding was denied, we hoped that we would still be able to coordinate the event solely through the efforts of our volunteers. We have now come to the realization that, without the full-time aid of a coordinator, the number of hours required to ensure a successful event is impossible for our current volunteer committee to provide.

This is a loss to our community. Cherry Sunday was a community and cultural event that over the years has attracted thousands of people to our small town, stimulated the local economy, and provided opportunities for various local clubs and volunteer organizations to fund-raise through food sales and other opportunities.

It is our hope that the Canada Summer Jobs Program will re-evaluate the grant application so that our organization is able to hire a summer student next year to enable us to plan for an even bigger and better Cherry Sunday in 2019. St. Therese Institute’s Cherry U-Pick will still be available throughout the picking season.
