Bruno Cherry Sunday is more than just a festival; it's a cherry-centric heartwarming
gathering that brings our community together, draws in visitors from
across the prairies, and raises vital funds for local organizations. Set
against the beautiful backdrop of the historic former St. Ursula
Academy and Convent grounds (now St. Therese Institute of Faith and
Mission), this event truly embodies the spirit of Bruno.

From the moment you arrive, you'll be immersed in the cheerful atmosphere that makes Bruno Cherry Sunday a cherished (or as we like to say, cherry-ished) tradition. We can't wait to see you there!

Originally a casual afternoon event in 2003, Bruno Cherry Sunday has grown over the years, at times expanding into a full weekend "Bruno Cherry Festival," before returning to its roots as the one-day "Bruno Cherry Sunday." The historic grounds of the former Ursuline Convent, now home to St. Therese Institute of Faith and Mission, serve as the primary venue, boasting the very orchards that inspired the festival. The success of the dwarf sour cherry varieties, developed by the University of Saskatchewan for harsh prairie growing conditions, is a central theme of the event.

Kids' Activities & Family Fun

Bruno Cherry Sunday is a fantastic day out for the whole family! Kids will love the kids carnival, face painting, balloon twisting, and other exciting activities.

Sour Cherry U-Pick Orchard

Experience the joy of picking your own fresh, tart prairie cherries directly from the trees that started it all. Bring your own pails and fill them with these delightful fruits, perfect for baking, preserves, or simply enjoying fresh. Contact orchard owner St. Therese Institute for information.
UPDATE 8/6/2025: St. Therese Institute has announced the conclusion of the U-Pick season. U-Pick ran from July 25 - Aug. 2 as the cherries ripened early this year. They extend a "cherry" big thank you to everyone who came out and picked.
